BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision to visiting Baldwin Wallace on a sunny Saturday, Sept. 16, at the Sears Complex. The Yellow Jackets improved to 4-3, while the Beavers slipped to 1-4.
A Rachel Bender goal just 1:02 into the match put the Jackets on top. Bluffton held Baldwin Wallace at bay for the remainder of the half, but Bender got loose for three more tallies in the second period en route to the 5-0 final.
Junior Skylar Liming (St. Marys/Memorial) paced the home team with three shots. Freshman keeper Sienna Sullivan (Columbus/Hilliard Davidson) picked up 11 saves for the Beavers.
Baldwin Wallace racked up a 34-6 edge in shots, including 18-1 on frame. The visitors forced four more corner kicks (7-3) and were whistled for all four fouls in the contest.
Bluffton is back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 19, when the Beavers host Otterbein University at 4 p.m.
