Robotics experts
Bluffton Girl Scout troop 20007 proved their robotics abilities over the weekend.
The only all-girl team in the First Lego League, international robotics program and competition, placed 7th out of 24 teams in its first tournament.
The Bluffton troop received a grant from the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio to obtain the equipment needed to compete in the First Lego League competition.
Placing 7th enables the Bluffton troop to move to the next competition level.
The team received a trophy for placing second in one of the three program categories – core values.
The next competition is at the district level on Jan. 13 in Bowling Green.
The team includes Sarah Bergstrand, coach, Ellie Bergstrand, girl scout, Sabina Clingerman, girl scout, Adanna Johnstone, girl scout, Gail Clingerman, coach, and June Essinger, girl scout. Their First Lego League team name is the Musical Waffles.
