BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University men’s basketball team faced off against the other purple school, Defiance College, in a conference battle at home on Wednesday, Jan. 10. The contest was tight as neither team held a lead over four for the first 14 minutes. With the rivals trading buckets to start the second half, ANDREW RENNER (Cairo/Bath) dialed long distance to start the Beavers on a 14-0 run over a span of five minutes for a 52-31 cushion. Defiance hit a pair of free throws but the home team would answer with a triple from ANDREW HUNTER (Arlington) at the 6:21 mark which put the Beavers up by a comfortable 61-39 margin. Defiance was unable to score over the final 2:56 as Bluffton capped the game with a 10-spurt en route to the 75-47 victory over the Yellow Jackets.
