ODOT using nearly twice the salt as last winter in Allen County
The following is an update regarding snow and ice operations on state highways within Allen County from November to the present. This report is issued periodically during the winter months and as necessary following snow and ice events.
District 1 districtwide totals to date:
Salt used: 42,753 tons
Liquid de-icer: 567,023 gallons
Miles driven for snow and ice: 579,902
Total cost: $5,481,518
Totals versus last year same time:
Salt used: 23,667 tons
Liquid de-icer: 281,457 gallons
Miles driven for snow and ice: 296,362
Total cost: $3,089,110
