Spiritual care endowment established through Blanchard Valley Health Foundation
The Blanchard Valley Health Foundation has received a donation from the Great Lakes Conference Foundation of the Churches of God for the establishment of a Spiritual Care Endowment.
This endowment will sustain and promote spiritual care for Blanchard Valley Health System patients, physicians, nurses and associates. It will also help provide education and mentoring support for spiritual caregivers in the community.
"We are very grateful for the opportunities provided by this gift," said Elizabeth Kelly of Bluffton, BVH spiritual care coordinator. "The contribution is in line with the Blanchard Valley Health System mission and vision, particularly in providing exceptional clinical care and service through competent, caring and passionate people, and healing environments that enhance physical, emotional and spiritual well-being."
The first workshop provided by this fund, "Matters of the Heart: Pastoral Care for the Living and Dying," will be held Tuesday, Oct. 5 in the Fellowship Hall of the First Presbyterian Church in Findlay.
This seminar is for pastors, chaplains, social workers and nurses. For more information, contact Kelly at 419-429-6463.
