Jeffrey Augustine served as a Union township trustee for 20 years
Jeffrey Dean Augustine, 57, of Rawson, died on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. He was born on Dec. 21, 1960, to Jerry Dean and Ruth (Stewart) Augustine. He married Tamala (Tammy) K. Roth on Nov. 14, 1981 and she survives.
He is also survived by his daughter: Courtney (Duane) Gerten; his son: Jesse Dean (Sara) Augustine; his grandchildren: Conner, Anabelle, Maddison, and Jacob Dean; his sister: Becky (Larry) Bucher; his brother: Jim (Jenny) Augustine; his brother-in-laws: Chris (Tonya) Roth, Rob (Carol) Roth, and Rick (Nichole) Roth; his in-laws: Harold and Mary Lou Roth: his nieces and nephews: Brad, Ashley (Jeff), Megan (Dade), Molly, Joshua, Macie, Kenedeye, Kadreye, Kinzer, Devin (Brian), Alanna, Brittney, Sami, Lexi, Matthew, (Adam and Maggie).
Jeff graduated from Cory-Rawson in 1979. He worked for G&R Sandblasting for 21 years. He also worked for Neff Construction in more recent years. He was a Union Township trustee for 20 years. He was instrumental in getting the Southwestern Hancock Joint Fire District organized the first of this year after several years of work on the project.
He was a farmer, working along side his parents, wife, and son. Jeff had articles published about him in the Ohio Journal and Successful Farming magazine.
Jeff was a member of the Rawson New Hope United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Free and Accepted Mason Lodge #418, Mt. Cory, and was an alumnus of the Cory-Rawson FFA.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Red
Cross or Road Runners Transportation Fund for the Shriner's Children Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay.
A Masonic Lodge service will be held at 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 24, at 11 a.m. at New Hope United Methodist Church officiated by Pastor Del Bonar.
Burial will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.coldrencrates.com.
