Junior Deandre Nassar won the 195 class and advanced to the State Wrestling Meet for the second year in a row.
The junior won by pin and 13-5 decision Friday. Seeded first in the class, Deandre won his semifinal match again by 13-5 score and then turned a late pin in the finals with just 17 seconds left to win the championship.
Jeremy Sturgeon (106) won his first match 7-6 over Versailles Kobe Epperly. Sturgeon was then pinned by Olivia Shore. In consolation matches on Saturday jeremy was pinned and ended his season with a 22-17 record
Tayton Kleman (113) dropped his first match by pin to Covington’s Cael Vanderhorst. Tayton earned a 3-2 win over Northeastern’s Kyle Kinder in the Consolation bracket. Saturday, Kleman lost 10-2 to end his season with a mark of 24-13.
Josh Mehaffie (12) lost 5-2 to Adena’s Silas and fell 15-0 Saturday to end his season with 16-19 record.
Landen Luginbuhl dropped his opening match 13-3 to Ty Stevenson of Preble Shawnee. Landen fell 8-2 in the consolation bracket to end his tournament run. Landen’s record this season was 19-13.
As a team, Bluffton finished 18th out of 64 competing squads.
