Betsy and Dan Lee plan to open "creative studio"
Plans are underway for a new business to open at 121 S. Main St., formerly housing Town and Country Flower Shop.
Using the name Timber and Vine, LLC, Betsy and Dan Lee of Bluffton plan to open a business later this summer.
Betsy describes their plans this way: “We are a creative studio where people can come to build on-trend, farmhouse-classic, inspirational pieces of décor for their home, office or cottage.
“Our studio will offer projects with a vintage, timeless look with accents of black and weathered wood to help people cultivate their inner DIY design skills. And each hands-on wood sign workshop teaches the techniques needed to create a custom piece that looks professionally made.”
Prior to opening, the Lee’s have filed paperwork with the Ohio Division of Liquor Control for a D1 and D2 permit. The LLC was filed with the State of Ohio on Jan. 14.
D1 allows beer only for on premises consumption or in original sealed containers for carry out only. D2 allows wine and mixed beverages for on premises consumption or in original sealed containers for carry out only.
The liquor license was on the Feb. 19 Bluffton council agenda. The council voted not to request a hearing on the license request. The liquor permit request will be on the Bluffton Precinct C election ballot on Tuesday, May 8.
The Lees will announce additional information about their business plan following the election.
The building is owned by Peter and Kim Suter, who told the Icon: “We love their concept, and look forward to having them in the building.
“Our delay in filling the flower shop space was intentional - we wanted to find a great complementary retail concept for our block, and we believe we’ve accomplished this with the Lee’s.”
The 121 S. Main St., storefront is bordered on the south by Book ReViews, and on the north by Shannon Theatre.
