By Sam Brauen, www.blufftonpirates.com
Sophomore Libby Schaadt had a big afternoon for the Bluffton softball team as the Pirates defeated both visiting Elida and Mother Nature for a 4-1 victory. With the field snow covered at day break, the win was much needed for the Pirates who had not played in a week.
Schaadt struck out 9 batters and allowed one earned run as she improved to 2-0 on the season. Libby also decimated the Bulldogs with a bat in her hand, launching a two run home run to stake Bluffton to a 3-0 lead in the third inning.
Averey Rumer went a perfect 3/3 on the day with two runs scored and two stolen bases for BHS (2-0). Katie Prater had two hits in three at bats including a double and two RBI. Mara Minnig went 1/2.
