Bluffton University’s Camerata Singers, University Chorale, Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble will perform a selection of lighter tunes during the Spring Fling concert at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, in Yoder Recital Hall.
Camerata will sing arrangements of familiar songs such as “Sing” from Sesame Street and “Yesterday” by the Beatles. They will be directed by Natalie Mallis. University Chorale will share some choral classics and will be conducted by members of the advanced conducting class.
Concert Band, under the direction of Dr. Roy Couch, will perform a variety of music including a medley of Irish tunes by Clare Grundman and a wind band arrangement of themes from the film “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.”
Led by Dr. Andrew Liebermann, the Jazz Ensemble will get bluesy with performances of “Yearnin’” by Oliver Nelson and “Moanin’” by Charles Mingus.
The event is free and open to the public.
