Esther Brauen was a retired nurse
Esther L. Brauen, 87, died April 5, 2018 at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
Esther was born June 2, 1930, in Findlay, Ohio, to Eldon and Ada (Hilty) Lugibihl who preceded her in death. On Nov. 6, 1947, she married E. Keith Brauen who survives. Esther attended Bluffton High School and Lima Technical College where she received an Associates of Nursing degree.
She worked at Celebration of Health with Dr. Terry Chappell for many years before she retired.
Survivors include 10 children; Connie (Leland) Crouse of Ada, Julie (John) Mackey of Bluffton, Shirley Brauen of Columbus, Merry (Gene) Augsburger of Pandora, Bill (Joan Graber) Brauen of Foley, Minnesota, David (Kathy Diller) Brauen of Bluffton, Chris (John) Hochstetler of Bluffton, Don (Jodi Basinger) Brauen of Bluffton, Betty (Gary) Augsburger of Pandora, Janet Brauen of Troy; 22 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, a brother, Ken (Marcia Lemley) Lugibihl of Pandora and a sister, Betty (Jerome) Glick of Jenera.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, at First Mennonite Church, Bluffton, with Pastor Wanda Stopher officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery (PeVee Road near Beaverdam) prior to the service at 9:30 a.m. Visitation will be on Monday from 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Mennonite Church.
