Summer camp returns to BFR starting May 29
Summer camp, kid’s night out, elementary volleyball and junior high basketball programs are on Bluffton Family Recreation’s spring and summer calendar, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.
Summer camp
Summer camp returns to Bluffton Family Recreation this summer, Registration is underway on the BFR website.
The program, for 5 to 12-year-olds, will begin on Tuesday, May 29 (no camp on Monday, May 28 Memorial Day).
This year’s camp will run Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Campers should bring their own lunch, drinks and snacks. Weekly costs per camper are $60 for BFR members and $120 for non-members.
Camps themes will be announced shortly. A meet the camp counselors night will also be announced. Parents and caregivers with questions should call Tinch at 419-358-4150.
Kid’s Night Out May 5
Kid’s night out is Saturday, May 5, from 5 to 11 p.m. It’s the same night as the Bluffton High School Athletic Boosters reverse raffle.
Open to youth ages 4 to 12, it provides many Disney-themed activities and games. Kids are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Disney character.
And, there will be a pizza, soft drinks and snacks. Registration is now underway and the cost is $20 for members and $30 for non-members.
4th-5th-6th grade volleyball
A volleyball league for 4th, 5th and 6th graders is set for Friday evenings at 6 p.m. from May 11 to June 15. The cost is $30 for members and $60 for non-members.
Junior high basketball leagues
BFR will hold two junior high basketball leagues in May.
Boys’ league
League play for the 7th grade boys’ league is on Tuesdays
League play for the 8th grade boys’ league is on Mondays
Girls’ league
League play for the 7th grade girls’ league is on Thursdays
League play for the 8th grade girls’’ league is on Wednesdays
All games are at BFR, 215 Snider Road, Bluffton. Game times will be announced. The cost is $300 per team.
