Averey Rumer named to all-Ohio softball

Bluffton High School junior Averey Rumer has been named second team All Ohio in softball for the 2018 season. The shortstop led the Pirates in batting average at .625 and stolen bases with 19.
Katie Prater, a junior, received first team district honors and Libby Schaadt, a sophmore, was named to the second team. Prater batted .469, hit 8 doubles, 3 home runs and drove in 28 runs.
Schaadt batted .373 at the plate, hit 8 doubles and belted 4 home runs. The sophomore drove in a team high 31 runs batted in. On the mound, Schaadt finished the season with a 15-5 record and led the immediate area with 181 strikeouts. Schaadt finished the season with a 2.00 ERA.
