Jeff Boehr participates in commencement at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary
Jeff Boehr of Bluffton participated in the May 6 commencement service of Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary (AMBS), Elkhart, Ind.
He anticipates graduating in December 2018 with a Master of Arts in Christian Formation with a concentration in Christian Spirituality. His future plans are pending in the area of retirement community pastoral care or chaplaincy; he is also open to congregational pastoral work.
Boehr, who previously earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Accounting from Bluffton University, is a member of First Mennonite Church in Bluffton.
He and his wife, Beth, have two children, and his parents are Richard and Corrinne Boehr of Bluffton.
“I have highly valued the experience of being physically present in the AMBS community during my seminary educational process,” Boehr said. “The classroom experiences have been vibrant, and building relationships with persons of various locations and life experiences has allowed me to see the fullness of God in new ways.”
Of the 21 graduates honored during the commencement service, which was held at College Mennonite Church in Goshen, Ind., 12 earned a Master of Divinity, five earned a Master of Arts in Christian Formation, and one earned a Master of Arts: Peace Studies.
Three students received a Graduate Certificate in Theological Studies, representing the equivalent of one year of study. Palmer Becker, D.Min., a church leader, pastor, missionary, author and educator from Kitchener, Ontario, gave the commencement address.
The graduating class comprised seven men and 14 women from Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Romania. Two graduates originally came to the U.S. as refugees, fleeing war in their home countries of Laos and Zimbabwe.
