Sally Dunahay was a graduate of Beaverdam High School
Sally J. Dunahay, 78, died June 4, 2018, at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima. Sally was born Oct. 16, 1939 in Beaverdam to the late Roy and Georgine (Bishop) Eckenwiler. On Feb. 21, 1965 she married Leonard Dunahay who preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 2013.
Sally was a graduate of Beaverdam High School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed working outdoors in her yard and collecting pigs.
Survivors include a three daughters, Amy (Bradley) Powley of Columbus Grove, Mary J. Dunahay of Lima, Sally J. (James) Hauenstein of Lima; two sons, James A. (Shawn ) Dunahay of Lima, Leonard E. Dunahay Jr. of Cairo, 11 grandchildren, Shawn, Jeremy and Tyler Powley, Briar, Olivia, Hannah and Vera Dunahay, Cody Dunahay, Tiffany Bleichner, Dakota Dunahay, Sam Hauenstein; four great grandchildren, Brylan, Akara, James, Kamdien; a brother, John Eckenwiler of Beaverdam; a sister, Sue Hefner of Spencerville; and a sister in law, Esther Eckenwiler of Pandora.
Sally was preceded in death by three brothers, Lynn Eckenwiler, Howard Eckenwiler and Vernon Eckenwiler.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 8, 2018 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Pastor Tom Dearth officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima. Visitation will be Thursday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
