What's going on in Bluffton this weekend? Well, there's someone for just about everyone. Here's the list:

Tour the Schumacher homestead
The Swiss Community Historial Society opens the Schumacher Homestead to the public on Saturdays from 1 to 5 p.m. Visitors to the Schumacher Homestead, 8350 Bixel Road, Bluffton, will learn what it was like to be an early Swiss settler in the Bluffton-Pandora area.

Swiss Community Historical Society docents can tell you all about the homestead and the generations of the Schumacher family who lived there. You can explore the house from attic to cellar.

In addition to the restored 1843 house, areas open to visitors are the:
• reconstructed summer kitchen
• restored workshop
• 1850s kitchen garden
• outdoor bake oven
• and extensive grounds.

The homestead is open every Saturday afternoon, June through August.. The 1854 barn will be open on the last Saturday of each month.

Admission is $5 for adults. There is no charge for children 16 and under who are accompanied by an adult. Admission is also free for members of the Swiss Community Historical Society. SCHS memberships may be purchased on site.

Cars and coffee
Masterpiece Signs, 902 N. Main St., next Bluffton Cars and Coffee event is Saturday, according to Tim Boutwell.

The event is an “informal gathering for enthusiasts and their cars.” The monthly cars and coffee event continues through October. It is always held on the fourth Saturday of the month.

Each event is from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the following Saturdays:  July 22, Aug. 26, Sept. 23 and Oct. 28.

Boutwell said that it is open to all makes, models and vehicle years. There’s no charge to attend and door prizes will be given away.

 “Cars and coffee is a gathering of auto enthusiasts where proud drivers will congregate to enjoy a cup of coffee and kick tires,” he said. “There is something for everyone: classics, exotics, sports cars, luxury cars, imports and domestics. Bring your ride or drive yourself.”

Library storytime at Farmers' Market
Farmers Market Storytime continues at 10 a.m. on July 28. All ages are welcome. Meet at Bluffton’s annual Farmers' Market in the Citizens National Bank parking lot on South Main.
