Thurman Goddard was retired after 40 years at Whirlpool
Thurman Wesley Goddard, 84, died Aug. 11, 2018, at his residence in Pandora. Thurman was born Aug. 11, 1933, in Redhouse, West Virginia, to the late Grant and Selma (Jividen) Goddard. On Dec. 16, 1966, he married Pamela Brammer Goddard who survives.
Thurman worked for 40 years in Quality Materials - Material Handling for Whirlpool in both Marion and Findlay. He was a member of the American Legion in Pandora and Gilboa, the National Rifle Association and Gideon's International. Thurman served in the U.S. Marines Corp during the Korean Conflict in Japan. He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, fishing, traveling, nature, airplanes and motorcycles.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela S. Goddard of Pandora, a daughter, Melissa (Jeff) Robinette of Lewis Center, Ohio; a son, Jeffrey (Laura) Goddard of New Philadelphia, Ohio, six grandchildren, Mackenzie, Cassidy, Bethany, Tessa, Jordyn and Jaide; a brother, Donald (Darlene) Goddard of Richwood, Ohio; two sisters, Paulette (Douglas) Halterman of Dayton, Ohio, Lana (Paul) Fowler of Richwood, Ohio; a sister in law, Claudette Goddard of Marysville, Ohio and a brother in law, David Epps Jr. of Marysville.
Thurman was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Goddard and two sisters, Ellen Epps and Maybelle Bredsten.
Services will be held at 12 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018 at Pandora United Methodist Church. Pastor Duane Kemerley officiating. Private burial will be in Claibourne Cemetery, Richwood. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pandora United Methodist Church, Alzheimer's Association or Bridge Hospice.
