Music and ice cream on the MMH lawn Sunday
Findlay High School’s steel drum band, Pantasia, will play at a free concert on Sunday, Aug. 19, at 6:30 p.m. at Mennonite Memorial Home (MMH), 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton.
MMH has hosted the annual Concert on the Lawn since 2005. The Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio Service Group will serve ice cream, and ice water will also be available. Those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and dress for the weather.
Playing its first performance in 1997, Pantasia performs on the steel drum, the national instrument of the island nations of Trinidad and Tobago. The band has garnered an impressive reputation as an educational and entertainment instrumental music ensemble.
They average 40 performances a year and their credits include: The Orlando and Cocoa Beach Tour, 2015; the “Big Easy” New Orleans Tour, 2009; the Cruisin’ the Bahamas Tour aboard the Carnival Cruise Ship “Fantasy,” 2006, and many others.
In case of heavy rain, the concert will be cancelled. Visit the MHCO Facebook page the day of the concert at facebook.com/MHCOhio/ for updated information. You may also check the Icon and Icon's Facebook for concert updates.
