Daniel J. Amstutz was active in the Pandora community
Daniel J. Amstutz, 67, of Pandora died Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, at Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. He was born May 14, 1951, in Bluffton to Fred and Mary (Schmidt) Amstutz. On Sept. 4, 1971, he married Marty Shank and she survives.
Dan was a 1969 graduate of Pandora-Gilboa High School and attended Clark County Technical Institute. He worked and enjoyed the agricultural business over the years. Dan was a long-time resident of Pandora. Dan was a member of St. John Mennonite Church, Pandora. He was an active member in his community and church and was involved many church ministries.
Survivors include his wife, Marty Amstutz; his mother, Mary Amstutz of Bluffton; three children, Allison (Ron) Schwab of Pandora, Seth (Bethany) Amstutz of Bluffton, Amy (Adam) Zuercher of Bluffton; nine grandchildren, Cole Schwab, Taylor Schwab, Avery Zuercher, Nyla Zuercher, Wyatt Amstutz, Jax Zuercher, Bo Amstutz, Nash Amstutz and August Amstutz; three brothers, Jim (Lorraine) Amstutz of Akron, Pennsylvania, Steve (Jana) Amstutz of Pandora, Pete (Portia) Amstutz of Goshen, Indiana; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Patricia Schmeig, Jane Shank, Mary (Dean) Luginbill, Art (Kathy) Shank, Virginia Sommers, Tim (Patti) Shank and Elizabeth (Glenn) Ellis.
Dan was preceded in death by his father, Fred Amstutz; a brother, Michael Amstutz; and brothers-in-law, Clint Schmeig, Deryl Shank and Bob Sommers.
Services will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, at St. John Mennonite Church, Pandora. Pastors Paul Perkins and Jim Amstutz officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m. and Friday from 2 – 5 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. at the church.
