Alumnus displays 'Traces of Entropy' at Bluffton
"Traces of Entropy," an exhibition by Andreas Baumgartner, a 2008 Bluffton University art graduate, is on display through Oct. 31 in the Grace Albrecht Gallery of Bluffton's Sauder Visual Arts Center.
Baumgartner, who recently received a Master of Fine Arts degree in digital art from Bowling Green State University, is exhibiting digital prints from his graduate thesis exhibition. His large-scale prints (5.5 feet by 3.5 feet) explore abandoned living spaces: "The testimony of human life becomes apparent by studying the traces of what happened in the history of these spaces but, within time, will be forgotten forever in the succession of existence," he explains.
The exhibit is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 1-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The gallery will also host a reception for the artist from 9:30-11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9.
