Food pantry cupboards nearly bare
The Bluffton Food Pantry's supplies are running a bit low and could use some reinforcements, according to Ed Yeager, board president of the Bluffton Community Assistance Program. Item may be delivered to St. John’s United Church of Christ.
Needed items include:
Paper products - toilet paper, paper towels, tissue
Personal hygiene – soft soaps, deodorant (men and women), lotions and hand creams, toothpaste and tooth brushes (wrapped, one or two), shampoo
Ramen Beef
Spaghetti noodles
Spaghetti sauce
Alfredo sauce
Macaroni and cheese
Mexican foods – tortillas, salsas, tacos
Breakfast cereals
Baked Beans
Chili beans
Spaghettios, Beeferoni, and similar items
Manwich or similar sloppy joe sauce
Cake and cookie mixes
Pudding and Jell-O mixes
Shelf Milk
Cream of mushroom soup
Campbells chunky soups
Chicken noodle soup
Canned fruits (mandarin orange, peach, pear, fruit cocktail, pineapple)
Apple sauce
Vegetables (green beans, mixed vegetables) NO corn or peas needed at this time.
Canned meats (beef, pork, chicken, tuna)
Condiments: catsup, mustard, mayo, barbeque sauce
Salad dressings
Sugar, flour, salt
Coffee, tea, fruit drinks
Two requests: Please no glass containers. And – if an organization is planning a drive for the Food Pantry please give Jami Crawfis, director, a heads up.
The Bluffton food pantry is located in the St. John’s United Church of Christ basement. It supports families and individuals in the Bluffton school district.
Applications for assistance are available at the pantry during open house, which are the third Saturday of the month from 8 to 11 a.m. and on the following Wednesday of each month from 7 to 8 p.m.
