Virginia Howell had worked at Triplett and at the Amstutz cannery
Virginia M. Howell, 101, died Jan. 14, 2019, at The Heritage in Findlay. Virginia was born Oct. 13, 1917, in Mount Cory to the late Ferd and Marie (Duffey) Crow. On Oct. 18, 1944, she married Howard Howell who preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1991.
Virginia was a graduate of Mt. Cory High School. She was a homemaker and had previously worked at Triplett Corporation and the Amstutz Cannery. Virginia was a member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing, whistling in her younger years, crocheting, flower and vegetable gardening and decorating cakes.
Survivors include two sons, Gary (Deb) Howell and Ed (Angie) Howell both of Pandora; eight grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Williams of Findlay.
Virginia was preceded in death by four brothers, Lyle Crow, Roy Crow, John Crow, Charles Crow and a sister, Anna Stratton.
Services will be held at noon, Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Private burial will take place in Clymer Cemetery near Mt. Cory at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant View United Methodist Church.
