Studio Silhouette, owned by Rachel Davis, is expanding its shop at 103 N. Main St. this month.

The expansion involves relocating the shop’s alteration and sewing area into the former space occupied by Bluffton Barbers in the front of the building. Bluffton Barbers closed in early November.

Studio Silhouette is a dress boutique, tux rental and sewing shop. The sewing-alteration portion of the business includes everything from zipper replacement to custom sewing of casual and formal alterations, (bridal wear), and home decor (including curtain hemming).

Tuxedo rentals will also move to the front of the store. Davis uses Jim’s Formal Wear for tux rentals, which range from weddings, proms, military balls and formal parties.

The studio continues to expand its consignment area.

“We recently added 134 brand new prom, bridal and mother of the bride dresses,” said Davis.

The consignment area includes new or used products including formal and informal dresses, jewelry, shoes and handbags.

Tuesdays 10 to 5
Wednesdays – Closed
Thursdays 4 to 8
Fridays 10 to 5
Saturdays 10 to 2

Building history
Bill and Chris Gable of Lone Palm Real Estate, LLC, purchased the building late last year from Dan and Karen Fredritz.

Gable intends to relocate his business, Gulf Coast Accounting, into the suite occupied by Wessler Engineering in the rear of the building. The engineering firm has plans to relocate on State Route 103.

For nearly 100 years the building housed the Bluffton News. In 2015, building owners, the Edwards family, sold the building to Dan and Karen Fredritz.
