Donald "Bud" H. Anderson was a retired farmer
Donald "Bud" H. Anderson, 89, died at his residence. Don was born Aug. 25, 1929, in Allen County, Ohio, to the late Donald and Helen (Harpster) Anderson. On March 24, 1951, he married Joan Mayberry Anderson who preceded him in death on Feb. 1, 2017.
Don graduated from Columbus Grove High School. He was a farmer and driver for Tri-State Expedited Services. Don was a member of Ebenezer Mennonite Church in Bluffton. He enjoyed wood working and his morning coffee with friends. Don served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include a son, Jeffrey (Tanya) Anderson of Elida; a daughter, Jennifer (David) Frick of Elida; six grandchildren, Julie (B.J.) Thaxton, Melissa Frick, Brian (Diana) Frick, Mysty Thomas, Sara (Brent) Stemen, Shane (Joyce) Thomas; 14 great grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Emily, Evelyn, Vincent, Michael, Anna, Lauren, Ryland, Jeremy, Jaxson, Jordon, Adeline and Levi; two sisters, Carolyn Armstrong of Bluffton, Wilma (Jack) Laeufer of Columbus Grove and a brother in law, Lewis Bassett of Lima.
Don was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Christy Frick and a sister, Imogene G. Bassett.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 8, at Ebenezer Mennonite Church in Bluffton. Pastor Jim King officiating. Private burial will be in Cairo East Cemetery where military rites will be performed. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 - 7 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ebenezer Mennonite Church.
