West Elm Street project starts Friday
Work on the West Elm Street improvement project begins on Friday, according to the village.
Hohenbrink Excavating is the project contractor. Some work was completed in the fall and the entire project is slated to be finished by mid-June.
The street may be closed during the day, but will be open after working hours.
The following notice went to property owners in the work project zone:
The Village of Bluffton understands it has been a long winter and the condition of West Elm Street continued to deteriorate, but the end is in sight.
Hohenbrink Excavating has begun to mobilize for the second phase of the West Elm St. reconstruction. As early as Friday, March 1, Hohenbrink Excavating will begin to grind the roadway and remove curbs and sidewalks.
This will be a time consuming process that the contractor will be coordinating with residents and motorists to allow access, when possible, to homes and businesses. Please obey traffic signs and seek alternative routes when possible.
Hohenbrink Excavating has a substantial completion date of June 15, 2019. Optimistically with an early start we could see an early ending.
The Village of Bluffton staff will meet with Hohenbrink Excavating this week to finalize plans. This letter is simply to provide notification of work to begin and more details will follow.
If you would have questions in regards to this project please contact me at 419-358-2066 ext. 107 or email at [email protected].
