Bluffton win a no hitter!
By Cort Reynolds
BLUFFTON - Bluffton freshman hurler Cole Koenig tossed a run-rule shortened no-hitter to defeat visiting USV 12-1 Wednesday evening in non-league baseball action.
Juniors Cayden Rayle and Tucker Neff each collected two hits and two runs batted in to help pace the nine-hit Bluffton offense.
Koenig aided his own cause with a single. Freshman Nick Pratter also added a single. Bluffton also took advantage of six Ram errors to win going away.
The Pirates scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning to rebound from a 1-0 deficit as USV scored without benefit of a hit in the top of the opening frame.
Bluffton then plated two runs in the third, and put the game away with a big seven-run frame in the home fourth.
