Frances Clum was the first woman on LaFayette village council
Frances Coral (Everett) Clum, age 94, died on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at 5:10 p.m. at Vancrest of Ada.
She was born September 1, 1924 in Lima, Ohio to Delmar and Lucille (Swick) Everett, who preceded her in death. Frances married James Corwin Clum on September 8, 1942 and he died November 12, 1992.
Frances was formerly an accountant for the Boy Scouts of America and a homemaker. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ada and a past member of the Zion Lutheran Church of LaFayette and she attended “Our Church” of Vancrest. She was a 1942 graduate of Lima South High School and a former member of the LaFayette PTA. Frances was the first lady to serve on the LaFayette Village Council. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends and was very proud of her five sons.
Surviving are four sons: Hugh Clum of Kiowa, CO, Keith (Rachel) Clum of Ada, Bruce James Clum of LaFayette and Paul David (Rita) Clum of LaFayette; daughter-in-law: Nancy Clum of St. Marys and 9 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Allen Clum; special granddaughter: Kelly Rae Clum; two brothers: David Everett and Billy Everett; and two daughters-in-law: Kay Clum and Peggy Clum.
There will be no visitation. It was her wish to be cremated. A public graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 12 at the LaFayette Cemetery, LaFayette, Ohio with Pastor Marty Clum officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vancrest of Ada Activity Fund and/or Presbyterian Church of Ada and/or charity of the donor’s choice.
