St. Rita’s hosts National Healthcare decision day event
As part of National Healthcare Decisions Day on Tuesday, April 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 1130 a.m. Mercy Health – St. Rita’s will be hosting an open house at St. Rita’s Health Resource Center. The Health Resource Center is located in the main lobby across from Starbucks.
National Healthcare Decisions Day educates and empowers the public and healthcare providers to take part in important advance care planning. The day focuses on ensuring that the information, opportunities, and access needed to document health care decisions are available to all.
In addition to the event at the hospital, St. Rita’s will also be doing events in the community. At these events, community members will learn about advance care planning discussions and advance directives documents like the Healthcare Power of Attorney and Living Will.
The local community event is Wednesday, April 17, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Allen County Senior Citizens Center, Lima.
Attendees should bring names, addresses, and phone numbers of family and friends they would like to include in any documents. If someone is unable to attend the session at this time, they should contact St. Rita’s Spiritual Care at 419-226-9481 or email Matt Etzkorn at [email protected] to schedule an appointment.
