Grab a cup of joe at Revive Coffee Co.
Bluffton Farmers Market is the place to be on Saturday mornings in town. According to the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce, our town "boasts the best farmers market in northwest Ohio."
In celebration of our small but mighty farmers market, the Icon will be featuring a market vendor each week over the course of the summer.
This week's feature vendor is Revive Coffee Co.
The owners of Revive Coffee Co. are Brendon and Anna Reiners of Pandora, and Amanda Miller of Bluffton, with Brendon as the frontrunner of the business.
If you want a cup of joe on Saturday morning at the farmers market, then come to the Revive Coffee Co. stall. The company has only been up and running for six months, so this is their first year at our market.
It probably goes without saying but Brendon Reiners is crazy about coffee (and God, and his wife and kids too). He roasts the beans himself, from his home in Pandora (although he's looking for a building). It takes eight to fifteen minutes per batch to properly roast coffee beans.
When asked why they started the company, Reiners said "We believe coffee is not just a drink but an art that can be developed and created in a variety of ways in order to please many different audiences. We want people to see coffee as something more than a drink that gives energy."
But he also stressed "Our first priority is to lay our business at the feet of God and let Him have His way. We believe that creating atmospheres where people of all ages can come and build relationship over a cup of coffee or tea can change the way communities function."
Their dream is to open a coffee shop (ideally in Pandora), because coffee "brings people together" says Reiners. He added, "Eventually, we'd love to build relations with farmers in the Dominican Republic and buy [coffee] straight from them."
Revive Coffee Co. currently sells bagged coffee from Costa Rica, Peru and Columbia, as well as drip (also known as filter) coffee on Saturday's market. You can choose from buying whole bean or ground coffee in two sizes: 1-pound or 10 ounce bags. They will be expanding to include other coffee varieties soon. They also sell custom printed t-shirts.
The name - Revive Coffee Co. - came from how coffee itself revives people, physically and mentally, but also embodies Reiners' hope for a coffee shop which enables people to be revived emotionally and spiritually as well. The company logo (see picture) was created by Reiners' brother, Anthony Reiners, who is a graphic designer and photographer (currently based in Arkansas).
If you need some Revive coffee during the week, head over to the Dough Hook, which has its own "The Hook" blend of coffee beans, roasted by Reiners, for sale by the bag.
For more information or to place an order, find Revive Coffee Co. on Facebook, or email [email protected] or call 903-312-1222. Revive Coffee Co. is based at 509 N. Jefferson St., Pandora.
Please note, the Reiners will be away on vacation this week, and will not be at the farmers market tomorrow.
