Girls' soccer: Bluffton 9 - Grove 0

BLUFFTON - Host Bluffton whipped Columbus Grove 9-0 in girls soccer Northwest Conference action Tuesday evening.
The Lady Pirates improved to 2-2-1 overall and 2-0 in the NWC with their second straight league win. CG fell to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the NWC with the defeat.
Bluffton's Laykin Garmatter and Reagan Mitterndorf each tallied three goals to pace the onslaught. Kayla White scored a pair of goals, and Lauren Rhodes added one goal.
Garmatter netted all of her scores in the first half as the Pirates built a 5-0 intermission lead. She scored in the seventh, 32nd and 38th minutes.
Mittendorf tallied in the 37th, 45th and 47th minutes. White scored in the 31st and 52nd minutes. Rhodes found the back of the net in the 55th minute.
Columbus Grove put two of its mere three shots on goal. Meanwhile, Bluffton peppered the net on 28 of its 39 shot attempts.
Grove was credited with 16 saves, while Bluffton only had to make two stops.
Bluffton plays at Riverdale Saturday afternoon.
