No parking 3 to 5 a.m. signs will go
Bluffton council’s streets and alleys committee covered 18 topics in its 77-minute meeting on Sept. 4.
Among items on its agenda included an agreement – approved by the full council on Sept. 9 – to remove "No parking 3 to 5 a.m. - without permit" signs on 10 village streets.
The signs were installed during an era when Bluffton University students were parking on these streets due to the lack of parking areas on campus. That parking issue was later addressed by the university, making the signs a moot point.
Joe Sehlhorst and Jerry Cupples are the committee members. While the parking ban remains in place the signs will be removed.
Streets affected include:
Lawn Avenue – Kibler to Franklin
Grove Street – Main to Kibler
Jackson Street – Grove to Kibler
Campus Drive and College View
High Street – Main to Spring
College Avenue – Main to Spring
Franklin Street – Main to Spring
Vine Street – Jackson to Spring
Spring Street – College to West Elm
West Elm Street Mennonite Home to Bentley
The other 17 topics discussed are listed on the committee’s minutes below.
The entire council packet from the Sept. 9 meeting is also attached.
