BHS senior Drew Wilson missed out on state qualification by three shots

BOWLING GREEN - The Bluffton boys golf team finished 13th out of 18 teams in the Div. III district tournament at Bowling Green's Stone Ridge Golf Club Thursday.
Kalida won the district team title with 328 strokes. Minster ended up second (333), followed by St. Joseph Central Catholic (339) and Seneca East (349).
Bluffton came in 13th with a total of 377 strokes, finishing five strokes ahead of league rival Allen East (382).
Only the top four teams and four individuals not on a qualifying team advanced to the state event Oct. 11-12 at the Ohio State University Scarlet Golf Course.
Bluffton senior Drew Wilson missed out on state qualification by three shots as he carded a team-best 18-hole score of 44-43=87. He tied for 28th place in the 107-player field.
Sophomore Pirate teammate Kenny Lovett was close behind Wilson in 36th with a round of 43-46=89. Senior Jared Piercefield shot a 47-54=101 in his last match.
