Bluffton boys seeded 1st in soccer sectional

TIFFIN - The Bluffton boys' soccer team (11-2-1) was seeded first at the 12-team Division III Tiffin sectional drawing held Sunday.
Top seed Bluffton earned a first round bye and will play the winner between 11th seed Otsego and 12th seed Woodmore Saturday, Oct. 19, at Bluffton in the second round.
The winner advances to the district semifinals Oct. 23.
The team was ranked third in the Division 3 of the Northwest Ohio Soccer Coaches Association poll last week. Bluffton is behind Ottawa Hills and Maumee Valley Country Day.
Ada (8-5-1) will host ninth seed Cory-Rawson in the first round Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 5 p.m. The Bulldogs shut out C-R 5-0 Sept. 19.
The Bulldog/Hornet winner will take on sixth seed Willard Saturday, Oct. 19, at 3 p.m. Willard received a first round bye and will play at Ada if the Bulldogs advance past C-R.
The winner there will likely face Bluffton in the third round/district semis will at Tiffin Columbian Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. The Pirates beat the Bulldogs 3-0 in Ada Sept. 24.
District finals will be Saturday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m. at Tiffin's Frost-Kalnow Stadium.
In the other half of the draw, Van Buren was seeded second and Riverdale third.
