Ada attempts Guinness World Record...
FROM ADA ICON - It was a community event with participants forming the third largest community in Hardin County, after Kenton and Ada.
The community, an estimated village on its own, totaled 1,700 or so, and assembled on the Ada War Memorial Stadium football field on Friday.

Their goal was to set a Guinness World Record of the number of people tossing footballs at the same time.
In other words, if setting a world record was on your bucket list, as Dan Lee, Ada HS principal and mastermind behind the event, announced to the crowd, over the PA system, then you succeeded.
The world-record setters included every Ada school student, faculty and staff plus hundreds of Ohio Northern University students, faculty, staff and administration, Ada village officials, EMS responders and police, plus Wilson and Klondike, the respective mascots of Ada High School and ONU.
According to Lee, the rules of being recognized by Guinness were strictly followed. Now the jury is out to see if Ada’s football toss makes the record books.
Liberty National Bank was event's underwriter. Wilson Football provided a game ball to each Ada school student following the toss.
