Limited number of tickets remain for Hancock museum Victorian Christmas dinner
The Hancock Historical Museum, Findlay, is taking reservations for its 26th annual Victorian Christmas Dinner Saturday, Dec. 14, in a rural Jenera homestead. The Friday date is already sold out.
The dinner takes place at the Glick-Etler House, a restored 1853 farm house at 9085 Township Road 32, Jenera.
The hosts are Nathan and Lauren Etler. The home was built by Lauren’s great-great-great grandfather, Anthony Glick, a German immigrant and survivor of the Famous Dove shipwreck.
Guests will be greeted at the door by coachmen and a butler. Guests may tour the home prior to the meal while enjoying old-fashioned wassail and appetizers.
A four-course meal will follow prepared by Jonah Agner of The Food Store and Greenhorn Restaurant, Bluffton.
Guests will enjoy a variety of traditional homemade savories following the meal. These include sugarplums, mints, candied orange and grapefruit peel, spiced pecans and pulled taffy.
Christmas carolers and instrumentalists will provide entertainment throughout the evening.
Reservations are $85 for museum members and $100 for non-members prior to Friday, Nov. 15. After that date, the cost is $95 for members and $110 for non-members.
Reservations may be made with payment at the Hancock Historical Museum during regular museum hours or online at www.hancockhistoricalmuseum.org.
