Introducing Bluffton's newest downtown retail shop
Bluffton has a new downtown retail shop, and it opened just in time for the holidays.
Roots by Strattons, a satellite of Stratton Greenhouses, opened this week in the former Et Cetera Shop, 111 S. Main St.
Susie Stratton, says, “It’s a dream come true. For several years we’ve wanted to open a storefront on Main Street.”
Residents with a very long memory can recall Susie’s “Plants and Things,” storefront on Main Street from 1977 to 1979. So, in a way, it’s a return downtown.
Roots, owned by Susie and Steve Stratton, has lots of items related to plants, trees and bird and gifts.
And, just to assure Stratton Greenhouses customers, yes, the greenhouse will remain open.
One of the interesting things about Roots is that the Strattons plan to expand into the alley between their store and Edward Jones.
“We plan to turn the alley into a ‘charming respite’ with tables and chairs for coffee drinkers. We’ll also have hanging baskets in the alley,” said Susie.
Store hours follow:
Mondays-Wednesday-Fridays: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesdays-Thursdays: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturdays: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Watch for a grand opening in December. The shop’s phone number is 419-615-8005.
