New plastic surgeon joins Mercy Health-St. Rita's
Mercy Health welcomes Joel L Shanklin, MD, FACS, to the Mercy Health – Lima Reconstructive & Plastic Surgery department.
A provider that with over 25 years of experience, Dr. Shanklin areas of expertise include aesthetic plastic surgery, facial plastic surgery and reconstructive plastic surgery.
“There is a negative connotation often associated with plastic surgery, but I think that it’s important to acknowledge that patients all have a different reason for seeking out treatment. Birth defects, disease and traumatic injury, for example,” said Dr. Shanklin.
“Making the decision to change your appearance is a big one. I am honored to work for an organization that offers compassionate, sensitive guidance to help patients make informed decisions that ultimately help patients feel more comfortable and confident in their skin,” he said.
