School board looking to purchase a school bus at $94,422
Larry Hoffman will join the Bluffton school board on Monday, as the board reorganizes for 2020. Hoffman was elected to the board in the November general election. He replaces Rene Smith who did not seek reelection.
In addition to Hoffman, Jeremy Scoles, who ran unopposed in November, will be sworn in to another term.
While the election of board officers and making committee appointments for 2020 is on the agenda, the board will also act on a bid for an 84-passenger school bus.
Bidding through the Southwestern Ohio Educational Purchasing Council program, it is anticipated that the board will purchase a bus from Cardinal Bus Sales and Service, Lima. The bid price is $94,422.
In other action, the board will consider hiring Jamie Erford as a home tutor at $21.12 per hour and Kelly Honse and David Anderson as substitute teachers at $85 per day.
The board will set 2020 meeting dates. Proposed dates follow, with each at 7:30 p.m. (except in December, meeting at 8:30 p.m. due to a holiday concert) on the following Mondays:
