EMU athletic director present Forum on values-based athletics
David King, director of athletics, Eastern Mennonite University, will present the Forum, “Values-based Athletics in a Social Media World,” at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18, in Yoder Recital Hall.
King, the author of the book “Overplayed,” will highlight the purpose of intercollegiate athletics to provide opportunities for players, coaches, spectators and the community to learn about themselves, the world and faith.
As the director of athletics, King oversees the 17 intercollegiate sports programs at EMU, providing overall leadership, advocacy and strategic planning.
"Athletics is the avenue through which many young people develop themselves to their fullest potential," King said. "My passion has always been to see personal growth and development of lifetime skills in players, coaches and community through the athletic experience.”
This event is free and open to the public.
