5th seed Bluffton women face 4th seed Anderson tonight
The 2020 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) women's basketball Championship will kick off Tuesday night, with the semi-finals and finals held Feb. 29-March 1 at Transylvania University.
Hanover College and Transylvania University both won a share of the regular season title, with 17-1 league marks, earning the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds.
Franklin College secured the No. 3 seed with Anderson University claiming the No. 4 seed, and their first post-season appearance in 20 years.
The No. 5 seed was awarded to Bluffton University, while Earlham College claimed the last slot in the No. 6 seed.
The quarterfinal rounds of the championship will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at the highest seed.
No. 4 Anderson will host No. 5 Bluffton while No. 3 seed Franklin will welcome the No. 6 seed Earlham. Both contests will tip off at 7:30 p.m.
The winning teams from Tuesday night's contest will advance to face the No. 1 and 2 seeds. The winner of the Anderson/Bluffton contest will face off against the No. 1 seed Transylvania on Feb. 28 at 1 p.m. The winner of the Franklin/Earlham game will advance to face the No. 2 seed Hanover College on Feb. 28 at 3 p.m.
The Women's Basketball Championship will be held on March 1, with tip off set for 11:30 a.m. in the Clive M. Beck Center on the campus of Transylvania.
The winners of the HCAC Championship will receive the conference's automatic qualifying bid and advance to the 2020 HCAC Women's Basketball Championship.
