Bluffton women in 1906
Here is a group of young women in Bluffton taken in 1906.
From left, Hulda Schaublin, Clara Wilson, Verba Ronston Ulch, Ora Kimmel, Elvina Hover, Florence Wilson Hilty, Bessie Bonnell and Blanche Williams Triplett.
The identification are thanks to someone taking the time to write the names on the back of the photo.
Some of the local relationships in this photo include Florence Wilson Hilty (sixth from left). She is the paternal great-grandmother of Cara Young Davies and Brandt Young.
Florence's daughter, Fern Hilty Young, followed by Roy Young, then Cara and Brandt, which leads to the Davies children. And, Clara and Florence were sisters.
Some additional note: The population of Bluffton was 2,500. The Western Ohio Railroad, electric interurban, came to Main Street that year and Main Street was bricked for the first time ever. Motorized vehicles began appearing in Bluffton at this time, with the first one to appear in 1904.
The photographer was Will Triplett. Photo is from the collection of Nancy Yeager.
