University resumes on-campus classes and residential living in August
Since March, teams of Bluffton University faculty and staff have been actively planning to welcome students back to campus for the fall 2020 semester while keeping the campus community as healthy as possible.
New safety measures include a change in the 2020-21 academic calendar.
• Fall semester will be moved up two weeks
• First-year students will move in on Friday, Aug. 14
• Returning students will move in Aug. 15-16
• In-person classes will resume Monday, Aug. 17
• Students will finish fall semester classes by Thanksgiving break and will not return to campus for the spring semester until January to minimize the risk of virus spread.
“I want to share my appreciation with the faculty and staff who are working in creative ways to ensure that we can provide a true collegiate experience for our students while also following guidelines from the State of Ohio, Health Departments and local health care providers,” said Dr. Jane Wood, president. “We look forward to seeing students back on campus.”

Additional actions will be shared later in June.
