Here’s how Beaver men’s sports teams finished in HCAC
The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology has won the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Men's All-Sports Trophy following the completion of the 2019-20 season. This is the Fightin' Engineers 11th title since the awards inception.
Rose-Hulman had a well-rounded year, capturing men's soccer and men's indoor track and field titles. The Fightin' Engineers also took second place in men's cross country, football and men's swimming and diving.
Director of Athletics Jeff Jenkins is at the helm of the athletic department at Rose-Hulman.
Hanover College finished in second with 42.64 points, with Franklin College in third with 36.82 points. Manchester University took fourth place with 34.31 points, while Transylvania University finished in fifth with 28.83 points. Anderson University (26.49), Bluffton University (20.98), Earlham College (17.97), Mount St. Joseph University (17.65) and Defiance College rounded (14.66) rounded out the 2019-20 standings.
The award has been handed out to the most successful men's athletic department in the conference since 1988 when the conference was known as the Indiana Collegiate Athletic Conference.
There are 10 men's sports sponsored by the HCAC. The men compete in tennis, golf, soccer, cross country, football, basketball, swimming and diving, baseball, indoor track & field, and outdoor track & field. Teams earn points for their institution by placing in each sport's championship. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, championships were unable to be held for the spring sports.
