Richard L. Bloom 1945-2010
Richard L. Bloom, 65, of Bluffton died Dec. 1, 2010, at his residence following a sudden illness. He was born Aug. 13, 1945, in Lima to Richard F. and Betty Ballinger Bloom. On April 27, 1963 he married Judith Minnig and she survives.
Mr. Bloom retired from Tower Automotive, Bluffton. He was a member of the Bluffton Presbyterian Church where he has served as a deacon. He was a graduate of Bath High School.
Survivors also include a son, Craig Allen Bloom of Miller City, a daughter, Tammy A. Pingle of Bluffton, three grandchildren, Josh Stewart, Chris and Haley Bloom, two great granddaughters, Vanessa and Maya Stewart and two step sisters, Patty Lehmkuhl and Gloria Saffle both of Lima.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bud Kimmel.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bluffton Presbyterian Church. Rev. Lew VanderNaald will officiate.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bluffton Presbyterian Church.
