Bradley Beilharz killed in vehicle accident
Bradley Beilharz, rural Bluffton, was killed in a collision with a semi in Putnam County Thursday evening, Dec. 2. According to the State Highway Patrol, the 51-year-old Bradley Beilharz died when he pulled into the path of a tractor-trailer after stopping at the intersection of U.S. 224 and Road 5, east of Ottawa. He was trapped in his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency crews were able to remove him.
The driver the of the semi, Dale West, 48, of Denver Ind., was taken to St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, where no condition report was given. The accident remains under investigation.
Beilharz was a former high school basketball standout in the area and played college ball before taking the coaching post at Cory-Rawson.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
