Elizabeth Bower of rural Jenera was 104
Elizabeth Doris (Bormuth) Bower, 104 of rural Jenera died on Wednesday, October 28, 2020.
She was born on April 8, 1916, in Jenera to the late Oliver and Alma (Schaller) Bormuth. On Nov. 4, 1936 she married Ezra Bower and he preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1995.
She is survived by her son, David (Karen) Bower of Jenera, daughter, Ilene (Larry) Parke of Findlay, son-in-law, LaVerne Freed of rural Forest. Mrs.
Bower is also survived by her sister, Delores von Stein of Jenera, Ruth Wilson of Powers, Mich., grandchildren; Gary (Chris) Freed, Stephen (Chris) Freed, Teresa (Rob) Zuercher, Andy Bower, Brian (Daphne) Bower, Chad (Diane) Parke, Traci Gutierrez, step grandchildren; Steve Parke, Brian Parke, Jeff(deceased)(Heather) Parke, great grandchildren; A.J. (Megan) Freed, Dusty (Leslie) Freed, April Freed, Nathan Zuercher, Brandon Zuercher, Emma Bower, Bailey Parke, Kendra Parke, Zoey Gutierrez, step great grandchildren; Jacob (Alyssa) Elsea, Caleb (Sarah) Elsea, Hannah (Matt) Gerbers, Mia (Will) Pritt, Brittany, Jordan, Jessica, Cole, Caleb, Caitlin and Chloe Parke.
She is also survived by great-great grandchildren; Cayden Freed, Lynnsey Freed, Ella Freed and step great-great grandchild, Noah Gerbers. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her daughter, Sara Mae Freed, infant son, John Bower, siblings; Eleanora Rossman, Herbert Bormuth, Marion Bormuth and Ruby Bower. She was baptized on April 8, 1916 and confirmed in the church on June 8, 1930.
Mrs. Bower was a life-long member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera
where she was a interior janitor for many years. She was a farmers wife, helping milk the cows, gardening and canning.
A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. for immediate family only, on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera.
Burial will follow in St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Mrs. Bower to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
