Portion of U.S. 30 closed for several days
U.S. 30 westbound between Interstate 75/State Route 696 and State Route 65 will be closing today, Wednesday, Dec. 23, for several days for emergency work on the Slabtown Road overpass.
On Tuesday evening, Dec. 22, Slabtown Rd. over U.S. 30 was closed due to a bridge strike. The closure of U.S. 30 westbound is to prepare for the removal of the damaged beam and bridge deck as soon as possible.
Traffic will be detoured to SR 696 (Lincoln Hwy), to SR 65, back to U.S. 30, between the villages of Beaverdam and Cairo. Cool Road, Thayer Road, and Mayberry Road will be restricted to through traffic or U.S. 30 eastbound.
