Ethan Leiber dies in snowmobile accident
Bluffton Ethan Scott Leiber, 12, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021, at Lima Memorial Health System Emergency Room as a result of a tragic snowmobile accident.
Ethan was born July 8, 2008, in Lima to Scott and Angela (Yeagle) Leiber, who both survive in Bluffton.
Ethan was a sixth grader at Bluffton Middle School and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bluffton. He enjoyed boating, tubing, jet-skiing with his canine companion, Shelby. Ethan also enjoyed snowmobiling and golfing with his friends. Ethan was very technological and drove his teachers and his parents crazy with wanting to fix their computers.
He was a member of Beaverdam Bunch 4-H and the Bluffton Middle School Student Council. Ethan was able to give the gift of life through organ donation.
Survivors include his parents; paternal grandparents, Roger and Dorothy Leiber of Bluffton; maternal grandparents, Charlie and Mamie Yeagle of Findlay; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and special friends, Kizer Young, Coby Dailey, Mason Shank and Joseph Fedele.
Ethan was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Nancy Yeagle.
Private services will be held at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Bluffton. Private burial will be in Woodland Cemetery - Beaverdam.
Public visitation will be Thursday from 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The service will be streamed on Chiles-Laman & Cremation Services' Facebook Page beginning at 11 a.m. on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
