Bluffton team finishes third in HCAC trivia night
The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) partnered with Special Olympics Indiana to hold the first Trivia Night on Sunday, with the team from Transylvania University claiming the inaugural title.
The event welcomed over 70 participants from all 10 member schools, with Student Athletes and Special Olympic Athletes teaming up for a night of fun.
After five rounds of trivia and a final Jeopardy round, the Pioneers of Transylvania claimed the title with a perfect score of 50 points.
Just behind in second place was the team from Franklin College, who took second with 46 points.
Finishing in a tie for third was Bluffton University and Mount St. Joseph University, with each team earning 44 points.
“We were extremely fortunate to partner with such an outstanding group as Special Olympics Indiana to make tonight’s event happen,” said HCAC associate commissioner, Stacey LaDew.
“While we were obviously disappointed we were not able to conduct our annual Unified Bowling Championship, this event was a wonderful opportunity to connect with our Special Olympics partners virtually.”
The night was filled with smiles and laughs. Following each round of trivia, the participants interacted in ‘Brain Breaks’, which featured a range of activities from scavenger hunts to dance offs. Comedian Craig Tornquist served as the nights host, engaging every member of the audience, while also facilitating the Trivia contest.
