Icon's artist of the month created yesterday's snowplow piece
Riley Pearson, Bluffton High School sophomore, is the Icon’s March artist of the month.
Riley’s state award-winning snowplow drawing was the featured photo on the Icon yesterday.
She has taken Art 1 and Art design/com.
“I plan to go to college and have some type of art major,” she said. “I would love to go into animation or illustration.”
Commenting about the piece she holds, she said, “When I was finished with this piece I didn't like it at all. I honestly thought that it was my worst one so far, but I kind of realized that even if I don't like it, other people might.”
About art, Riley said, “I enjoy art because it allows me to express my emotions and thoughts in a creative way. It can be relaxing sometimes and it's an outlet for me to get away from other things that are bothering me.”
Vickie Garmon is the Bluffton High School art teacher.
